What You Will Do
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will collect, transform, integrate, and analyze data to identify trends, assess performance, develop visualizations in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for information technology programs within the Department of State (DOS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Accessing data sources, establishing data connections, and pre-processing data for analysisDefining data requirements and ensuring storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information meets the organization's needsDesigning data modeling processes, creating algorithms and predictive models, and performing ad hoc/exploratory data analysis to support data-driven decision-making, including the use of advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling and machine learningLeading data-driven analytic activities involving the identification of key indicators for compliance and effective performance critical to mission/business successManipulating large data sets, data mining, and structuring of raw data using open sources tools such as Python to formulate or recognize patterns to generate new information and unlock information and insights that help the organization better manage risksDesigning and developing data visualizations and dashboard solutions to provide required analytics insights and BIUtilizing analytics tools for data visualization and business intelligence (BI), such as Tableau and Power BIDelivery of client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development
What You Will Need
An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearanceB.S. or B.A. in a relevant quantitative and/or computational discipline and 3+ years of relevant professional experience – OR-M.S./M.A. degree in a relevant quantitative and/or computational discipline and 2+ years of relevant professional experienceHigh level of proficiency in PythonIntermediate proficiency in Tableau dashboard developmentProficiency in PowerBIProficiency in ExcelAbility to support hybrid on-site projects in the DC metro area
What Would Be Nice To Have
6+ years of relevant professional experience -OR- 5+ years of relevant professional experience with a relevant M.S./M.A. degreeKnowledge of additional coding languages such as R and SQLCompetencies in IT Risk and/or Cybersecurity domains
