Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Civil Engineer to join our team! As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design of various projects, including surveying, site plans, drainage, utilities, and horizontal infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction inspection, and quality control, with experience applying their skills to projects for Department of Defense facilities. If you have a passion for civil engineering and are looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply!Responsibilities:Prepares specifications or construction cost estimatesConducts site visits to document conditionsPrepares civil design for sites and projectsPrepares civil detailing for construction drawingsAssists in the preparation of written reportsPlans, designs, constructs, and/or maintains structures and facilities that provide shelter, support transportation systems, and control natural resourcesInvestigates, measures, surveys, and maps the earth's physical features and phenomenaConducts research and development activitiesEvaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making substantial engineering adaptations and modifications to assigned projectsAssists in the planning, designing, and monitoring of projects for substantial new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities encompassing highly specialized or unique requirementsAssists in serving as a technical consultant concerning facilities planning, design, construction, and/or maintenance for different categories of facilities; determines resources and performs long-range planningReviews consultant-prepared design drawings, indicating basic design corrections; prepares technical specifications; reviews engineering plans for compliance with numerous regulatory actsAssists in the evaluation of contract bids; makes recommendations to higher-level engineers regarding feasibility studies; assists in the management of large-scale construction projectsUses construction inspection report data to prepare payment estimates as a recommendation for payment of contractorsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringMaster's degree in Civil Engineering preferredProject Management experience preferredCurrent professional engineering license and ability to be licensed by comity in other statesMinimum 20+ years design and/or construction experienceMilitary facilities design a plusWorking knowledge of applicable design and building codesProficiency in civil analysis computer software and AutoCAD required; Microstation experience a plusExperience administering and managing construction contractsComputer proficiency in Excel, Word, and scheduling softwareAbility to have strong rapport with clientsStrong written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to obtain a government clearance is requiredWhat We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work on high-profile projects with a reputable companyCollaborative and dynamic work environmentProfessional development opportunities
