Position Overview

The Advancement and Events Specialist provides planning and logistical support for events and experiences for College of Liberal Arts donors, alumni, and the College community. They support the growth and sustainability of the stewardship program by creating high-quality events that present a compelling image of the college, supporting high-priority CLA objectives, and implementing stewardship best practices.Work Expectation:

Flexible hybrid; at least 1 day in the office each week in addition to events.Salary Range, DOQ:

$40,000 - $45,000Job DescriptionPlans and executes internal events for faculty and staff with direction from the Director of Alumni Experiences & College Events.Project manages event logistics and carries out tasks such as scheduling rooms, ordering supplies, and liaising with venue staff.Provides on-site support for events, including setup, registration, A/V, and general event management.Monitors budgets, pays invoices, and manages vendor relationships for events.Assists in alumni relations and stewardship activities.QualificationsRequired Qualifications :BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.Demonstrated event planning experience.Strong project management skills.Ability to lift over 25 pounds and be on feet for several hours.Ability to attend occasional events outside of normal working hours.Preferred Qualifications:Experience planning award presentations.Experience in development or fundraising support.Experience with donor database platforms and/or CRM.About the Department CLA is the largest college in the University of Minnesota, home to 31 academic departments and 20+ interdisciplinary research centers in arts, social sciences, and humanities.Benefits The University offers competitive wages, paid holidays, generous time off, continuous learning opportunities, low-cost medical plans, and excellent retirement plans.How To Apply Applications must be submitted online.
