Immediate opening for a full-time Senior University Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel of Stanford University. This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and Managing Attorney. The attorney in this role will primarily provide legal advice on business transactions and contracts, research, tax, corporate, intellectual property, privacy and athletics matters. This position requires discretion, flexibility, excellent client service and the ability to execute projects with competing interests in a constantly changing, cutting edge environment.Applicants should have a law degree from an accredited law school and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience gained in private practice and/or as in-house counsel, ideally in the higher education space.There are two postings depending on the years of experience, requisitions 99403 and 99406, for the same position. We are willing to consider candidates with more work experience for a Senior University Counsel position. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
