Neurologist

Job Overview:

The neurologist provides non-surgical specialty care for disorders of the brain and peripheral nerves. He/she performs physical examinations, reviews medical histories, prescribes medications and orders various ancillary tests to diagnose and treat patients.

Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Analyze patient medical historiesConsult with patients' primary care physicians to coordinate careOrder and interpret EEG, laboratory, imaging and other diagnostic testsDetermine a diagnosis and plan of care for each patientPartner with other members of the care team (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, social worker)Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in a timely mannerMinimum Qualification Requirements

including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g., lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)

MD or DO degreeCompletion of an ACGME-approved residency in neurologyBoard certified or board eligible in neurologyValid DEA registration and New York medical licenseBLS certificationPreferred Qualification Requirements

2+ years of post-residency experienceActive Medicare and NYS Medicaid registrationFamiliarity with the NextGen EHRExperience with the I/DD patient populationCompensation:

$180.00-200.00/hr.
