Roles & Responsibilities
Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.Minimum Qualifications
Job Summary:
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.Responsibilities: Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.QUALIFICATIONS
BLS and ACLSNational Institutes of Health (NIH)Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) CertificationSound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careRequires a minimum of two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience.Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist programActive unencumbered Respiratory Therapist state licenseOne year of Epic experienceRequirements
