Dr. Eileen Corigliano has been a member of the Staten Island Academy community since 1995 and affectionately calls the Academy “home.”A strong proponent of educating the “whole child,” she believes that schools should offer a variety of core academic programs, including athletics, arts, technology, and community-based service opportunities, while also fostering intellectual, creative, social, and physical development.Dr. Corigliano, known fondly as “Dr. Crig,” has worn many hats across all grade levels at the Academy, including teaching, advising, coaching, and volunteering as a club moderator. Today she can be found in her office with students and faculty, visiting classrooms, or coaching – all of which are vital in maintaining a connection to the Academy community.Dr. Crig holds numerous professional qualifications and accolades. In 2022 she earned a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University; she also has a Professional Diploma in Educational Administration and Supervision, a Master of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Speech Communication from St. John’s University. She has been awarded Administrator of the Year by the New York State School Counselor Association and named National Association of Independent Schools Fellow. Dr. Crig has served on various school evaluation teams for the New York State Association of Independent Schools.
