Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Monterey, CA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in various aspects of litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling discovery, interviewing witnesses, taking/defending depositions, motion work, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, class action suits, and trial preparation. The role also entails direct client contact and requires outstanding legal research and writing skills.Duties:Manage and handle various litigation tasks, including discovery, deposition work, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation.Interview witnesses and gather evidence to support cases.Participate in mediations and arbitrations, working to achieve favorable settlements.Defend class action suits and ensure compliance with legal requirements.Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.Draft, review, and file legal documents and pleadings.Maintain direct contact with clients and provide legal counsel.Requirements:Legal experience with a strong background in litigation.Proficiency in handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.Experience in mediations, arbitrations, class action suits, and trial preparation is a plus.Outstanding legal research and writing skills.Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients and legal teams.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Skills:Comprehensive understanding of litigation processes and procedures.Strong legal research and analytical skills.Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.Trial preparation and courtroom representation capabilities.Attention to detail and accuracy in legal work.Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
