Included in the S&P 500 Index and the NASDAQ 100, CoStar Group is on a mission to digitize the world’s real estate, empowering all people to discover properties, insights, and connections that improve their businesses and lives.Role DescriptionThe Technical Accounting & Internal Controls Manager will:Assist in due diligence and purchase accounting procedures for acquisitionsResearch technical accounting mattersPrepare technical accounting memos for key business initiativesAssist in the financial reporting process including drafting disclosures compliant with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements for complex transactionsThe Technical Accounting & Internal Controls Manager will also be part of a team responsible for executing our Internal Controls program. Responsibilities include:Leading technical accounting assessment for new products, operational changes, partnerships, or other strategic initiativesPerforming contract reviews for accounting recognition and presentation considerationsPerforming control testing and review control test resultsCoordinating remediation of findings and deficiencies identified by SOX testers and external auditorsParticipating in the annual SOX risk assessment and scoping exerciseServing as a liaison between management and the external auditorsSupporting management’s review of third-party assurance reportsFacilitating the use of data analytic techniques to drive opportunities for control improvements and control testing efficienciesProviding guidance and training to management on SOX compliance and internal controlsSupporting special projects and the Company’s ERM programCollaborating with Corporate Accounting, Finance, and IT Compliance teamsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of progressive corporate accounting, consulting, or audit experience with a focus on internal controlsCPA or CIA requiredWorking knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and audit methodologiesKnowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO)Extremely organized with a flexible mindset and willingness to embrace changeExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with high personal and professional integrityExcellent customer focus and service mindsetSelf-directed individual with a focus on process improvementPreferred QualificationsHands-on experience with complex technical accounting issuesFamiliarity with Workiva Controls Management and OneTrustExperience in a Big 4 accounting firmWhat’s in it for you?CoStar Group offers a collaborative and innovative culture, generous compensation, professional and academic growth opportunities, comprehensive healthcare coverage, mental health counseling services, commuter benefits, retirement plan, stock purchase plan, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, fitness benefits, diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, and more.Salary Range:
