Edgewater, NJ - Hybrid, 3 days a week in office

What you will be doing:This is a global position supporting all regions and brands of the organization. The Design + Innovation team plays a key role in strategic pipeline definition, consumer insight research and creative direction, management, and execution of all new product launch initiatives.A key function of this position involves partnering with brand managers and engineering program managers across the global and regional marketing organizations of the company. The cross-functional teams plan and implement programs within a multi-year product roadmap. The Design Manager serves as champion of design quality and consistency acting as consultant to the cross-functional teams. The Design Manager drives experiences that are appropriate for beauty, fashion, and luxury brands.Ownership of design processProduct design consistency with brand language appropriate with beauty, fashion, and luxury brands.Optimized user experience and consumer delight across physical and product-related digital user experiences (apps, etc.)Manage outsourced design agenciesParticipate in and translating consumer/ethnographic insights into design opportunities.Ability to understand and empathize with beauty and fashion consumersIdentify and apply meaningful innovationAssess the appropriate level of design effort vital to achieve objectivesGenerate ID briefs communicating project vision and design intent to company and agenciesManage project schedules and budgetsManage design control documentation including color/material specificationsPerforms other duties as assignedSkills needed to be successful in this role:Ability to align design solution with strategic business objectivesAbility to lead initiatives, spot opportunities, and redirect where necessaryStrong problem-solving skills—program constraints and requirements can be sophisticated and require innovative solutionsStrong communication (writing, speaking and presentation skills)—ability to assertively sell ideas based on proven rationale and objectivesAbility to champion, educate and consult regarding benefits of designStrong visualization and sketching skillsOrganizational skills (able to set a plan to reach final deliverables)Presentation skills (Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint required)Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related profession/field6+ years of experienceStrong understanding of manufacturing, materials & processesDigital UX product experience (like apps) is a plus where it relates to physical productsStrong awareness of global design trends, Beauty, and fashion trends.Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPreferred Qualifications2D CAD skills: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop3D CAD skills: Alias, ProEngineer“Da’Vinci sketches”Wondering if you should apply?
