The Recycling Associate is part of a larger Workplace team responsible for making sure our Gigafactory customers (our Tesla employees) are happy at work. As a Workplace team, we ensure their facility needs are met so they can work to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.Our ideal Recycling Associate can work autonomously and in a team environment. A successful Recycling Associate candidate will be mindful of personal cleanliness while keeping Gigafactory Nevada organized and presentable. This position is physically active and requires the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.Shift: 6:00AM - 6:00PM or 6:00PM - 6:00AMWeek 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other WednesdayWeek 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday

Responsibilities

Transporting recyclables, scrap and trash throughout the factory, sort and segregate materials to maximize valueOperating heavy equipment including cardboard balers, pallet jacks, foam densifiers and other recycling equipmentEnsure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, protect company assets and ensure your safety and the safety of all othersAdhere to quality expectations and standards, follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to SupervisorDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with your workplace team and all production teamsPerform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors including those assigned to support cross functional teamsExposure to various weather conditions. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditionsRequirements

One year or more prior recycling, construction, landscaping, shipping, warehouse, custodial or grounds maintenance experience preferredMust be comfortable being trained to drive and operate heavy equipment for this specific role, previous heavy equipment operating experience preferredDemonstrated ability to learn new skills & adapt to new work environments including comfortable learning new technologyComputer skills are strongly preferred (use of Word, Excel & Outlook programs), punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude are a mustOpen to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts including weekendsMust have command of the English language, both written and verbalEssential Physical Demands:

Comfortable driving and operating safety sensitive and heavy equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, flatbed carts, including climbing on and off a forklift using a 3-point grasp and an 11" stepAbility to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day including frequently and repetitively, lifting, pushing and carrying up to 50 lbs and ability to climb a 10" step and back downAbility to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time and over varied and uneven terrainFrequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, stoop, lay, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of timeAbility to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearingPotential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materialsWearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelinesComplimentary Shuttle Service: *Locations subject to change*
