The Global Market Intelligence Lead is responsible for leading the development of strategic market and competitive intelligence of global markets to deliver valuable insights to the organization. This position is the global knowledge hub for Geotab to review and have a complete understanding of emerging trends, opportunities and threats by enhancing the depth, breadth, and accuracy of market & competitive intelligence to maintain Geotab's competitive edge.What you'll do:

The Global Market Intelligence Lead provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making and uncover new business opportunities globally to maintain Geotab’s competitive advantage. This position requires a strong foundation in the telematics / fleet management industry with the excellent analytical skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally to develop subject matter expertise that translates into digestible intelligence to shape Geotab’s competitive strategy. The Global Markets Intelligence Lead, acts as the SME and is the go person to other team members and works closely with the Strategic Intelligence team.How you'll make an impact

Lead various projects to deliver market insights in support of Geotab’s strategy. Adept at contrasting external global market data & perspectives with internal data & initiatives, applying critical thinking to deliver market research and insights to the organization.Navigate internal teams and partner ecosystem, developing relationships to understand where to access information to support analysisPerform global market analysis on emerging trends and competitors including new market presence, expansion of capabilities, new partnerships and M&A activity to develop actionable insights and a competitive response across the organization.Own the development of global market & competitive intelligence assets such as competitor overviews and intelligence reports.Develop industry and vertical overviews and identify future market opportunities to help inform product portfolio prioritization, GTM strategies, partnership opportunities etc.Collaborate with internal teams and partners to collect feedback on market activity to identify opportunities and make recommendations for GeotabDevelop detailed reports and presentations that effectively communicate market intelligence findings to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of critical information to support strategic decision-making.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate market intelligence. Build and maintain a network of industry contacts and external sources to stay informed about the latest market development and competitive landscapeAssist senior leaders in planning by providing data-driven insights on market conditions, competitive dynamics and potential risks. Facilitate discussions and contribute to the development of global market strategies.Research global market trends and activities to provide regular updates and reports to senior leadershipProvide mentorship and guidance to stakeholders and other team members on global markets and trendsWhat you'll bring to the role

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent work experience. Commerce/Economics or a related field is highly valued.MBA or equivalent with a solid background in business strategy and technology is an asset.Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted8+ years experience in strategy, market intelligence or consulting roles assessing companies / industries to support strategic decisions. Experience in the telematics / fleet management industry an assetDeep knowledge of our industry and competitors, including how our customers use fleet management technology is a must.Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is a must.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and make sense of complex quantitative and qualitative data.Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role!
