What you'll do:

The Senior Software Developer will be part of a team who builds a web-based, state-of-the-art, telematics platform that makes sense of the data collected by our custom-built hardware. We receive detailed data and metrics for millions of vehicles and devices globally, which is processed and interpreted to create actionable information for our customers. Understanding the performance impact of designs, threading, good UI design, and scalability is a must for this position.

How you'll make an impact

Listen and contribute to design discussions and make detailed notes and documenting requirements and technical design.Perform quality assurance by doing peer reviews, ensuring coding standards are followed, looking for logic errors and other bugs.Analyze call stacks, trace files, performance data to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of bugs.Participate in development of prototypes and proofs of concept.Provide assistance to our support staff and resellers from a technical perspective. This may be in the form of on-call or ad-hoc questions relating to how certain features work or verifying the behavior by reviewing code.Research new language features, frameworks and other relevant technologies and offer recommendations.Assist in defining best practices to be used in the team.Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.

What you'll bring to the role

5-8 years experience as a Software Developer using object-oriented programming to build scalable applications.Deep knowledge of C# backend development and ASP.NET (experience with Python also desired).Proficiency in analyzing datasets for trending/troubleshooting desired.Experience with Postgres database required. Design, optimization, and writing queries (experience with Entity Framework Core desired).Working knowledge of Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes is required (GCP desired).Proficiency in Git (or some other distributed source control tool) and are comfortable with resolving merge conflicts and renaming branches, etc.Strong performer with high accuracy and meticulous attention to detail (experience with mission-critical production services).Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.Experience with comprehensive solution-wide automated testing (Unit, Integration, System, End-to-End).Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through to completion.Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).Mobile development experience (Kotlin Android, Swift iOS desired, but other frameworks also beneficial - nice to have).Experience integrating with embedded solutions. (nice to have)Experience working in a CI/CD environment.
