Elevate Government Solutions is a high growth Technology Services company focused on driving technological change in the government space. Our teams engage with various government agencies to develop and deploy emerging technology solutions using a tailored Agile methodology.We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with specialized expertise in Risk and Compliance to join our organization! The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in understanding regulatory requirements, assessing risks, and implementing effective compliance strategies within the federal sector. Duties include analyzing financial reports, market research and operating procedures, strategizing ideas to improve business operations and meeting with company executives and other stakeholders to provide suggestions based on their analysis. This role must possess strong leadership skills and be able to work autonomously and effectively. Effective communication and prioritization skills are vital for success in this role.The position will be a mix of remote and on site work and is open to US citizens residing in the Washington, DC area.Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to risk management and compliance.Translate business requirements into system requirements to provide to system integrators.Conduct thorough assessments of existing processes, systems, and controls to identify potential risks and compliance gaps.Develop and implement strategies for improvement of processes and controls to better mitigate risks and comply with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to (specify relevant regulations or standards).Design and maintain comprehensive documentation of risk management procedures, and controls.Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management and compliance processes onto enterprise Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) solution.Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and key dependencies, and recommend appropriate actions.Escalate roadblocks and issues to project leadership in a professional and timely manner.Facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote awareness and understanding of compliance requirements among team members.Work closely with project leadership and other stakeholders to implement and/or consult requested solutions.Must be able to work independently with little to no daily supervision, is a team player, open to ideas and learning.Work in a distributed team environment where team members are spread across numerous locations and often communicate virtually to support clients.Work as a team member closely with the Project Manager, Technical lead, stakeholders, and business counterparts to negotiate and manage a reasonable scope for assigned projects and to ensure implementations are completed on time and within budgetRequired Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Required skills:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience5+ years proven experience as a Business Analyst in a risk and compliance function preferably within the federal government sectorIn-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements relevant to federal government.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all work activities.Possess considerable logic and understanding to analyze and troubleshoot problemsMust be inquisitive and able to efficiently reach an understanding of complex tasks while using this understanding to produce project artifacts that satisfy project objectives.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Initiative-taker with ability to overcome barriers to entry, and quickly identify decision makers.Ability to think and execute strategically and execute tactically.
Desired Skills:
GRC platform experience (Workiva preferred)Certification in Risk Management (e.g., FRM, CRM) or Compliance (e.g., CRCM) is a plus.Experience with regulatory reporting tools and systems.Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in risk management and compliance.Ability to multi-task & support multiple priorities / multiple deliverablesStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to take the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervisionSkilled in verbal, written and oral communicationStrong team player with a great attitudeFlexibility and willingness to go beyond the call of duty. Highly self-motivated and directed. (a go getter)Ability to take ownership and drive issues to closure
