This position is located in Charleston, SC.

Night work will be required for this position.

General Description

The foreman supervises field operations of a grading crew. They will also engage in the trade work performed by the crew.

Key Duties

- Knowledgeable in the areas of excavation and grading

- Directly supervisors grading crew, reporting to Superintendent

- Operates and supervises the operation of heavy equipment on project sites

- Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications

- Provides reports on time and materials

- Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met

- Use of heavy equipment and supervision of the use of heavy equipment

- Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Night work will be required for this position.

Requirements

-

Experience operating relevant heavy equipment

- 5+ years, SCDOT, commercial and/or residential grading experience

- 3+ years supervisory experience

- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50+ lbs

- Needs to have SCDOT experience and knowledge of SCDOT specs including standard knowledge of Erosion and Sedimentation

- MUST be able to read plans proficiently.

- Traffic control knowledge (Training can be provided)

- Has knowledge with GPS and can set and check grades with rotating laser.

- Needs to be able to Operate a Motor Grader, Dozer, & Track Hoe

- MUST be able to work Nights or Days as required or as work allows.

- MUST be able to manage a crew and subcontractors.

- Have good note keeping abilities.

- Has the ability to use GPS and UTS Rover and knows standard set up for motor grader/dozer. Must be able to proficiently check and set grade either using stakes or GPS/UTS.
