Affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi EM is a main teaching site for one of the premiere Emergency Medicine residency training programs in the country, with 84 total EM residents over 4 years. Jacobi provides excellent health care to an urban population: a high-volume ACS Level 1 trauma center, a regional burn center, a primary stroke center, and a STEMI/ PCI center. Jacobi EM is responsible for running Jacobi's regional snake-bite center and a multi-person hyperbaric treatment facility that treats elective and emergency cases.The department has active programs in ultrasound, simulation, hyperbaric, public health initiatives, global health, education, and research and is looking to recruit faculty with these subspecialty niches and others. Successful candidates will be highly committed to excellence in patient care, education and promoting scholarship to enhance the mission of the department. North Central Bronx (NCB)'s ED, the department's community hospital site, the second campus of Jacobi, has the highest patient satisfaction scores of any ED in NYC Health + Hospitals.
