What we look for

We are seeking an experienced

US Sales and Use Tax Manager

to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience in managing sales and use tax compliance, authorities notifications and SUT research. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales and use tax compliance functions, ensuring compliance with state and local tax laws, and providing guidance to optimize tax processes.What you'll be doing

Tax Compliance:Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of all state and local sales and use tax returns for multiple clients.Ensure clients’ compliance with all state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations.Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and help update compliance processes accordingly.Notification Management:Develop a process to handle notifications from tax authorities, including resolution support where needed.Prepare and provide documentation and responses to tax authorities.Systems and Process Improvement:Maintain and improve sales and use tax compliance systems and processes for the firm and its clients.Implement automation and other tools to streamline tax compliance and reporting for clients.Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance tax-related systems.What skills will be useful

We look for people with a start-up mentality, meaning:hard workingable to work independently with no micro-managementfocus on solving problemsadaptable and flexible approachworks well under pressureworks well in a teamable to think of solving problems at scale, not one-by-oneQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. sales and use tax compliance and management.Canadian sales tax (including GST/HST, PST, RST, and QST) knowledge is not required but would be considered a plus.Strong knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Previous experience with tax technology or a strong interest in the area.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
