DescriptionAre you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex program? Well, look no further! Leidos is currently looking to add Software Engineer (Level 2) with full-stack development experience for our application development team. The SWE will translate system requirements into software requirements, perform software design, and implement software applications and features in an agile environment. The candidate must be fluent in both Java and JavaScript. The application stack typically includes micro-services and web applications deployed in an orchestrated cloud native environment (Kubernetes/Docker). Day to day activities include working with domain Subject Matter Experts and Systems Engineers to fully understand system requirements and desired UX; designing and developing user interface components; and assisting in the design and development of back-end services.Primary ResponsibilitiesDebug existing software and correct defectsProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresPerform ongoing sustainment support as needed for legacy signals analysis systems and toolsDevelop and maintain legacy COTS and GOTS software packagesModify software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, and implement new security requirementsModify/augment existing software to add new features if required to satisfy user and/or security requirementsImplement, test, and deploy bug fixes, enhancements, and security updates for legacy codeIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsAssist with maintaining the overall system including migrating the code to new systems or operating environmentsHelp coordinate system outages and deploy software to the operational environment.Assist with helpdesk support as neededWrite, update, and review project documentation in Word and maintain information in Confluence workspaces.Work in partnership with other developers, systems administrators, testers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide troubleshooting and support services for user and system issues.Basic QualificationsFourteen (14) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.CLEARANCE REQUIRED : Active TS/SCI with Polygraph .*Must be US CitizenPreferred QualificationsReactJS, BootstrapTomcat, Jetty, NodeJSGitLab, Jira, Jenkins, MavenElasticsearch, Apache Kafka,, Redis, RabbitMQDocker, Kubernetes, NGINXLinux, with light administration skillsSDK development experienceData flow frameworks (e.g. Spring Data Flow)Streaming frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark, Storm, etc.)
