Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) seeks a Marketing and Communications Manager to begin as soon as possible. The Marketing and Communications Manager sits on the Advancement Team and reports to the Associate Head of School for Advancement, serving a critical role in support of the School’s enrollment, development, and parent engagement initiatives. The Marketing and Communications Manager develops and executes strategies designed to augment the School’s presence within Chicagoland, articulate the LFCDS value proposition, and serve as a storyteller to prospective, current, and past families.This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented marketing and communications professional who is eager to work in partnership with an experienced Advancement team, a dedicated faculty, and a supportive community. The School is especially proud of the brand awareness it maintains within the local and national independent school market, a recently completed refresh of the School’s visual identity, and a growing commitment to digital marketing tools that complement time-tested analog approaches. LFCDS is preparing to publish a recently completed Strategic Plan that will provide the Marketing and Communications Manager an opportunity to develop fresh collateral, including a standalone website, that promotes an updated Mission Statement, a new Vision Statement, and unique Belief Statements. Additional responsibilities include:CommunicationsDrafting copy and designing digital assets for school news, announcements, and events.Designing, editing, and distributing a weekly school e-newsletter.School WebsiteMaintaining the School’s public website to ensure timely updates with general news, information, photography, and other digital content.Social MediaDeveloping the school’s school media calendar and serving as a thought partner on social media strategy.Posting regular content about the School and its various activities on the School’s social media accounts.PublicationsDesigning content and layout for the School’s Annual Report and magazine, Paw Prints .AdvertisingOverseeing the design of ads, school signage, direct mail pieces, and other school materials.Organizing the School’s advertising campaigns, including coordinating timing, placement, size, and messaging of digital and print ads.Managing relationships with representatives from area publications, with the School’s graphic designers, and with local printing houses.Public RelationsActing as a publicist for the School, which includes fielding media requests for interviews with administration and teachers as well as pitching and writing stories.Writing and submitting press releases to media contacts on behalf of LFCDS covering all areas of the LFCDS experience as well as posting school events in local and media calendars.Photography & VideoServing as an in-house photographer, videographer, and editor of assets to be used across all communications channels.Supporting coordination of photo and video shoots conducted by external vendors.Maintaining the LFCDS photography and videography archives.Interested applicants should send a letter of interest, resume, and the names of three professional references in PDF format to the attention of Alex Sheridan, Associate Head of School for Advancement, at alex.sheridan@lfcds.org with the subject line “Marketing and Communications Manager”.
