Background Information:Innovative Defense Technologies

(IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to be based in our Arlington, VA office.

Overview:IDT is seeking a

Junior Cybersecurity Engineer

whose goal is to help document and develop artifacts in support of Authorizations to Operate (ATOs). In addition, this individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and helping execute any and all required updated processes and instruction sets for air gapped and isolated environments in remote locations.

All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop, implement, and maintain security-related documents, including System Security Plans (SSP), Risk Assessments, Risk Acceptance documentation, Security Impact Analyses, Contingency Plans, Incident Response Plans, Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&M), Independent Security Assessment (ISA), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Service Level Agreements (SLA), and Assessment & Authorizations (A&A).Collaborate with auditors and provide artifacts to support current configurations.Assess existing systems, applications, tools, and security processes for security implications and recommend enhancements to strengthen security posture.Conduct continuous monitoring, including maintenance of current Authorizations to Operate (ATO), monitoring compliance, conducting assessments, periodic scans, auditing events, and reviewing audit logs.Provide recommendations to minimize security impacts of new requirements and technologies in alignment with policies, federal laws, and mandates.Coordinate and facilitate meetings with external information assurance groups for continuous maintenanceDevelop, communicate, and enforce security policies, procedures, and safeguards for all systems and staff based on Data Center and other government standards.Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant field of Engineering.Required Skills:

Experience with Information Assurance either in the realm of developing cyber security standards and/or performing remediationSome level of experience managing and patching either Server-based or Workstation-based Operating Systems (Windows Workstation, Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu)Familiarity with DISA STIG or other Risk Management Framework.Virtualization Infrastructure Experience with VMware or similar virtualization toolsNetworking experience – TCP/IP, DNS, NetBIOS, switching, routing, VLANs, firewallsExperience with an Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability assessment and configuration management.Demonstrated ability to shift from one project to another in an agile work environment.Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentations.Ability to capture technical approaches, designs, block diagrams, algorithms, and implementations in written and graphical formStrong Documentation skills with particular attention to detailAbility to travel approximately 20% of timePreferred Skills:

1+ year of experience in a relevant technology fieldExperience troubleshooting issues of both a software and/or a hardware natureEnterprise system engineering/administrator expertise with at least one operating systemExperience configuring/managing RHEL SystemsExperience with Docker/Kubernetes configuration and hardeningExperience with System Design and System ArchitectureExperience with Bash and/or C shell scriptingExperience with Dell or Supermicro Servers is a plusExperience with Ansible, Powershell, Chef, Salt, Python, or Puppet experience is a plusVMWare, Red Hat, and/or Cisco certifications highly encouragedSecurity+ or equivalent IAT Level II required either at start of employment or soon afterCompetencies:
