Job DescriptionThe Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for protecting and enhancing The Walt Disney Company's reputation by diversifying the supply chain, and supporting the company's commitment to economic inclusion. The Supplier Diversity Manager will achieve this commitment by facilitating vendor participation from diverse groups focusing on increasing innovation, efficiencies, sustainability, and driving value to The Walt Disney Company’s bottom-line. The Supplier Diversity Manager will take ownership of various sourcing categories and segment business relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience influencing and counseling senior business executives.ResponsibilitiesAct as an internal strategic consultant to raise awareness within Disney Media Entertainment segment for the business case for Supplier Diversity. Provide guidance and education to internal business partners regarding engagement policies.In support of 2nd Tier Supplier Diversity efforts encourage influence and support strategic prime (Tier 1) suppliers to embed supplier diversity within their supply chain as far as possible. Ensure timely reporting, identify areas for continuous improvement and conduct regular validation of reported spendReview customized metrics reporting to monitor diverse supplier utilization trends, contract performance, and procurement spending to inform decision-making. Provide insightful and actionable guidance via senior management level reporting and analysisRecommend continuous improvements to monitor, reporting and systems to ensure accurate measurement of progress in reviewing and encouraging Diverse SuppliersSupport the sourcing, referral, and championing of qualified diverse suppliers. Assist in the resolution of issues between suppliers and internal clientsInfluence purchasing decisions through market analysis, relationship building, identifying potential diverse suppliers, and securing alignment with S&P organization and key stakeholdersPerform screening and initial assessment of suppliers identified, including product/service chain capabilities, financial solvency, etc.Recommend continuous improvements to monitor, reporting and systems to ensure accurate measurement of progress in reviewing and encouraging Diverse SuppliersAs necessary, assemble and lead project teams within functional areas of the company that play a crucial role in the implementation and success of various initiatives, identifying resource needs and developing schedules to ensure timely completionBasic Qualifications7+ Years of relevant work experience influencing senior leadership within the Media Entertainment industryAbility to prioritize and shift focus and responsibility to various segments of The Walt Disney Company driven by business needsAbility to provide market and category analysis to support the targeting of inclusion opportunities for diverse businessesAdvanced problem-solving skills (analyzing, investigating, and follow up)Strong project management, time management, and organization skillsDemonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational environments and drive change initiativesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced presentation and negotiations skillsDemonstrated ability to bring a strategic business approach to the role. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
