The Enterprise Sourcing (ES) team has been established to support the corporate and segment functions’ Sourcing & procurement requirements. In addition, the team is responsible for supporting the business Segments in developing and implementing Category Management strategies for Technology, Professional Services and Supply Chain categories. What You Will Do
As the Category Sourcing Manager, you will provide strategic sourcing oversight of Production and Broadcast technology categories spanning across Disney Entertainment and ESPN. Through partnering with leaders and teams, this role formulates and tracks business priorities and requirements aligning with a broader category to generate value from supplier initiatives. Maintain a good understanding and upstream involvement of capital plans and supplier opportunities. Be responsible for leading a large number of suppliers, their contracts, spend data, and being the lead sourcing person on projects.
Achieve goals and adopt market intelligence and trending tools to drive category strategy and vision. Cultivate customer relationships by serving as a business partner, helping identify critical business needs and providing sourcing services, both strategic and tactical, that exceed their expectations.
Support cross-functional technology teams through full life-cycle sourcing projects including leading workshops, project planning & management, analysis & strategy, supplier evaluation & selection, negotiation, and ongoing supplier relationship management.
Lead Requests for Proposals (RFPs) supporting customers’ requirements to identify the best supplier options for software, cloud platforms, and technology services. Align category resources globally to support customer requirements across geographies and leverage consolidation of vendors and technology standardization.
Create and deliver compelling quantitative analyses, defines gaps and areas for improvement, and solution-focused presentations that influence key decision-makers.
Foster a collaborative environment among customers and with other supporting teams (e.g., Legal, Finance, Segment-specific Sourcing teams, etc.), enabling category roadmaps. Mentor less-experienced staff and drives internal capability development in order to improve project synergies and supplier contracts rolling up into the categories.
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ Years of experience in Sourcing & Procurement
3+ Years experience developing and implementing category plans and sourcing for technology
Advanced negotiation skills and understanding of technology deal terms
Supporting Senior Technology executives in developing and implementing sourcing strategies
Executive presence, presentation and engagement
Category Sourcing knowledge and experience in sub-categories such as Media Engineering, Production Technologies, Broadcast Technologies. application development, content engineering, and software platforms
Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Category Management framework (analysis, strategy, implementation, measurement) and proven experience in creating category strategies
Demonstrate the ability to exceed the demands of various internal partners across multiple business units and regions
Demonstrate the ability to work strategically and develop strong reasons for change
Ability to perform detailed quantitative analysis in MS Excel
Strong project management experience
Outstanding communication skills
Customer service orientation and client-centered focus
Preferred Qualifications
Internal/external business consulting experience desired
Experience in Media, Entertainment or FMCG Multinational Companies
Willingness to travel (position may require up to 10% travel)
Experience in Sourcing in a Media & Entertainment environment
Knowledge of Technology services categories in international markets
Education
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Education
MBA or another quantitative discipline preferred
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $123,000.00 to $150,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
