Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Software—Software Integration Engineer/System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
Position Overview:
The position requires previous experience integrating separate software components into a single system.
Essential Functions:
Integrating complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
Linux and Windows system administration, including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up.
VMWare systems administration and installation.
Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system.
PowerShell/Bash/Korn scripting languages (developing, debugging, and maintaining)
Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows HW platforms from the OS up to the C2BMC-developed applications.
Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in the documentation to be delivered to the customer.
Develop installation scripts to automate the system installation.
Develop test plans/procedures for software integration test conduct, be responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports.
Coordinate execution of SW integration tests to verify system operation.
Work with software developers to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration and submit problem reports for errors found.
Responsible for implementing all system Information Assurance directives, including running IA scans.
Task and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members.
Lab systems (virtual & physical) are maintained and available for use.
User accounts are maintained and in compliance.
Ensure all system and network issues are troubleshot and resolved in a timely manner, compliant with Security policies and procedures. Work with Security to troubleshoot all security-related issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.
An active Secret clearance is required to start.
9 years with a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related field; 7 years experience with a Master's degree in an engineering discipline or related field
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
This position requires occasional travel, including support for installation and checkout at customer sites.
Intermittent non-standard work hours are possible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools.
Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code.
Familiarity with Java and object-oriented development is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
Knowledge/expertise in the C2BMC concept of operations and user interface.
Experience writing installation manuals.
Must write clear, concise system installation and configuration instructions.
Good communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers.
VM Horizon View is a plus.

Salary Range:
$121,000 - $181,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
