This role will be developing solutions and extending COTS products for the Finance Treasury Department in American Express. The right candidate will be comfortable with developing, testing, deploying, and supporting secure software products, as well as extending or migrating existent software products. A growth mind-set, ability to learn fast, prioritize, and make decisions within the scope of responsibilities are key to this role.Requirements Gathering, Analysis & DesignWriting and debugging code in Python, Java, SQL, various JavaScript Frameworks, HTML, CSSIntermediate understanding of PaaS, DaaS, and XaaSCollaborating with team members to design and implement softwareTesting and documenting softwareLearning and applying coding best practicesParticipating and Driving code reviewsAssisting in the support including troubleshooting and resolving technical issuesEnsuring software solutions have no security vulnerabilitiesEnsuring software solutions are resilientContributing to overall secure software development lifecycleKeeping up to date with industry trends and technologiesMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience and certifications5+ years of experience in software developmentExperience with programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSSExperience with JavaScript Frameworks such as reactjs and nodejsExperience with Querying languages such as T-SQL or PL/SQLExperience with data structures and algorithmsExperience with data modeling and data engineeringProficiency with GitHub, Jenkins (or equivalent), CI/CDExperience with one or more Cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, DaaS, and XaaSExperience with the Testing Lifecycle, Unit Testing, SIT, Regression Testing, UATExperience with SSDLCFamiliarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or ScrumStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity with Generative AI applied to coding and testingOther CompetenciesExperience with Mainframe (optional)Knowledge of ITIL (optional)Finance & Accounting basic knowledge (optional)Familiar with networking concepts (optional)Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
