Our client is a law firm specializing in Elder Law and Estate Planning. With multiple offices on Long Island, they are expanding and seek an experienced attorney to work in one of their offices. (Either in Nassau or Suffolk County). The position is full-time in the office.
Main Responsibilities
Providing legal advice to its clients, helping them navigate the complexities of estate planning, and ensuring the protection and management of their assetsProvide comprehensive and expert legal advice on elder law, estate planning, and administration to our clientsPrepare and review legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning instrumentsRepresent clients in probate and estate administration proceedingsInterpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses related to elder law and estate planningAssist clients in understanding and navigating Medicaid eligibility and application processesWork collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal staff while also managing individual caseloadsKeep up to date with the latest legal developments and changes in elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid rulesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates and excellent customer service
Main Requirements
Must have expertise in elder law, estate planning, and administrationDeep understanding of the New York State Bar and Medicaid requirementsMinimum of 2+ years of experience in the legal industry, specifically in elder law and estate planningJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolExtensive knowledge of Medicaid eligibility and application processesProven track record in estate administrationExcellent negotiation and communication skillsAbility to interpret complex laws and regulations
