General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.We are looking for a Project Manager with a strong technical background, preferably in engineering, who will be supporting research and development for emerging technologies applicable to next generation UAS. This position typically reports to a Program Manager or a Senior Program Manager and primarily serves as a liaison between the program manager and the rest of the development team on one or more development project(s). This position helps coordinate all phases of assigned project(s) from initiation through delivery and applies established principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems to ensure project(s) are completed on time and within budget.Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with development of project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.Manage and monitor project plans, schedules, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery for internal research and development and/or for contracted development efforts for external customers.Collaborate with technical staff and group management to develop and implement short, medium, and long term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives.Work with Engineering to establish technical requirements, concepts, critical designs, and evaluation criteria to enable the successful completion of engineering efforts.Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products.Interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels to resolve technical, cost, and/or scheduling issues.Act as the primary contact for program risks, issues, and opportunities.Administer and execute policies, processes, and procedures that impact the assigned project.Identify and assess project issues and develop recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.Act as a lead providing direction and guidance to employees working on assigned project.Participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, statements of work, technical specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).Assist with the pursuit of new or expanded business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the Group/Company and may result in new products, programs and business opportunities.Influence contract acquisitions, negotiations, and modifications.Ensure the security and confidentiality of proprietary technology and sensitive information is maintained.Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Additional Qualifications:

Five or more years’ experience as a development engineer (e.g. EE, ME, SW, etc.) or in the sciences (e.g. principal investigator, research, data science, etc.).Previous experience leading Internal Research & Design (IR&D) efforts.Previous experience as a supervisor of direct reports.Previous experience as a Project Engineer.Previous experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead on a development effort.Business degree in addition to a technical degree.Previous experience as voting member of a Configuration Control Board (CCB) or a Material Review Board (MRB).Previous experience as a signatory for engineering drawing release and/or change authorization.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.Base Salary: $81,190 - 145,338Job Type: Full-Time SalaryThe General Atomics(GA) group of companies is a world renowned leader in developing high - technology systems ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to electromagnetic systems; remotely operated surveillance aircraft; airborne sensors; advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies; and biofuels.
