Job Summary:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and people safety systems at Idan Foods. This role involves overseeing the SQF Certified System, HACCP plans, and other certifications to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. They will also manage and lead documentation, quality assurance, quality control procedures, and act as the primary contact during audits.Key Responsibilities:SQF Certified System Management:

Lead the development and implementation of the SQF Certified System at the Hawthorne Warehouse.Ensure the effectiveness of the system through verification, validation, and ongoing maintenance.Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF system.Communicate essential information to relevant personnel for effective implementation and maintenance.Maintain the integrity and development of the HACCP plan for Paterson1 Warehouse and Paterson2 Warehouse.Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Document Management:

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of production and food safety documents.Maintain up-to-date food safety technical documents for raw material vendors, ingredients, and packaging.Create and update all necessary documents for annual food safety procedures and SQF audits.

Quality Control:

Oversee Quality Control on the production floor and ensure adherence to custom recipes.Develop and implement Quality Control procedures for newly created custom recipes.Work with production teams to ensure accuracy finished productsContinually improve Quality Assurance and systems to achieve production efficiencies.Perform QC finished goods batch checks for adherence to finished product specifications.

Certification Management:

Maintain the integrity of Idan Foods’ Kosher Certification, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.Manage other food certifications (e.g., Gluten-Free, Organic) if pursued by Idan Foods.

Audit Process:

Act as the primary contact during SQF audits, addressing auditor questions and concerns.

Supply all necessary supporting documentation and clear corrective actions as required

Labeling and Technical Documents:

Create and review finished product labels to ensure accuracy of ingredient statements and allergen declarations.Organize technical documents related to Idan Foods’ finished products and serve as the direct customer contact for technical needs.

People Safety and Health:

Maintain health and safety standardsIdentify area of improvements as well as identify trends to improve the safety and health of employees

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.3-5 years relevant experienceCertification in HACCP and SQF PractitionerExperience in food manufacturing and food safety management.Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
