Client Information:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV—by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.
DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff.
Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure the integration and performance of all IT systems and components within the CDC’s DHAP.
Coordinate and manage testing teams to execute test cases and scenarios across multiple phases of software development.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing methodologies into the software development lifecycle.
Analyze test results, identify issues and gaps, and ensure resolution prior to production deployment.
Facilitate communication between project teams, software developers, and system architects to ensure seamless integration and alignment with project objectives.
Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software, and to improve future testing processes.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and integration, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven track record of leading successful test phases across complex IT projects.
Strong understanding of software quality assurance principles, testing techniques, and integration methodologies.
Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare IT or public health sectors, particularly with systems handling sensitive or regulated data.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices.
Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) or Certified Manager of Software Testing (CMST).
ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager or similar.
