Position Responsibilities:Reporting to the Corporate CFO for a private industry leading full-line, direct receiver and distributor and is one of the largest, continuously operating wholesale distributors in the United States.

The Controller will be responsible for the financial, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting reporting process for the company’s PA division. The ideal candidate will have experience in the wholesale produce distribution industry, preferably in a senior financial role, who’s managed the entire closing process as well as financial statement creation. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this individual will be a key partner supporting senior managers around strategic objectives, sales & operational reporting while continuing to support the growth of the company. They will maintain the monthly and annual financial reporting process as well as act as the liaison with the outside auditors. Controller will Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points. They will guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape. Will also develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines to achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions. They will help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies. They will assist with acquisition integration activities. Will have 5-7 direct reports.

Background Required:

Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Financial Manager (5 years)

Combined accounting and finance experience (10 years)

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and ensure quality control.

Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecast and report variances.

Manage all accounting operations: A/R, A/P, GL, inventory accounting, revenue recognition and cash forecasting.

Establish (w/CFO) financial & operating benchmarks, budgets & reporting standards - weekly, monthly, annually.

Prepare weekly and monthly sales and operational analysis and reporting including ad hoc reporting.

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Manage and comply with local and state reporting requirements and tax filings.

Assist with the treasury management.

Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Residence: Philadelphia, PA area (Relocation assistance possible)

Background Preferred (but not required):

Proven Senior Financial Manager or Controller in Distributor or Warehouser or Consumer Goods Mfr. (5 yrs.)

CPA
