Business Development RepresentativeAbout the JobThe Business Development Representative will be a key member of Knowland’s Sales team, responsible for collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing to generate and develop new leads and ultimately new customers. As a candidate, you are enthusiastic, resilient, and creative, and you are truly driven by the ‘hunt’ of Sales. Successful candidates will not be afraid of a new challenge, will be proactive in their approach to learning and improving, and will collaborate well across departments. If you are up for the challenge of helping to establish a new role in a growing company, we’re excited to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:Proactively seek new opportunities within an assigned territory of potential customersNurture and develop marketing qualified leads with a focus on engaging and qualifying prospective customersContact potential customers through prospecting phone calls and email communicationUnderstand prospective customers’ needs and pain points, and effectively present our company to them; accurately communicate information learned to Sales Managers to hand over opportunitiesArrange and confirm on-line meetings and discussions between Sales Managers and prospective customersUse systemic sales methodologies and sales scripts to support progression of deals through the early stages of the sales cycleUse Salesforce.com to manage database of prospects and customersReport to Sales Management on activities, results, and outcomesLearn and stay up to date on Knowland’s products, value proposition and positioningMinimum Qualifications:At least 1+ years of work experience, ideally in a Sales/Business Development or Inside Sales role preferredExperience with CRM software (Salesforce.com experience preferred)Understanding of Sales Performance MetricsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in an inside sales environmentStrong contract negotiation and closing skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelBachelor's degree preferredExperience in SaaS software or the hotel industry preferredHighly competitive and motivated by achieving and exceeding targetsAbout UsKnowland is a globally recognized provider of meeting and group data that offers extensive insight into market analytics, group industry trends, and powerful benchmarking tools.
