The Assistant Project Manager will join NYSERDA’s Clean and Resilient Buildings group as part of the Advanced Efficiency Solutions team. The Advanced Efficiency Solutions team works across building sectors to develop and deploy purposeful demonstration projects that prove out repeatable approaches to decarbonize NYS buildings.Primary Responsibilities

Project Management

Manage multiple projects through their entire lifecycle, from proposal and contracting, through technical assistance, implementation, and project close out.Develop and manage solid working relationships with program stakeholders including real estate, engineering, and vendor partners. Increase coordination to accelerate investment in decarbonization.Review, evaluate, and constructively criticize or approve program deliverables, including contract scopes of work with budget and milestone schedules, installation and commissioning reports, and various technical documentation. Ensure good program compliance for submitted projects, deliverables, and participants.Provide assertive project management, including resolving issues to drive the contracting process forward and proactively communicating with program participants on upcoming project deadlines and events, as well as overdue or insufficient documentation.Respond to requests for information regarding general program or technology areas, eligibility questions, and participation requirements. Work with internal program team to resolve questions and maintain consistent messaging.Manage technical and cost-control aspects of multiple ongoing projects with minimal supervision.Demonstrate good judgment and understanding of when to escalate issues. Keep program team abreast of project progress and issues as they arise.Program Strategy and Market Engagement

Work with program team to develop strategies for driving clean energy investments and design/execute programmatic efforts to support these strategies, and support the dissemination of lessons learned in real time to the market.Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the building retrofit industry and NYC real estate community.Represent NYSERDA at meetings and events with external stakeholders, including in public forums and speaking engagements; present information on NYSERDA’s behalf at professional meetings, conferences and workshops.Support Team in designing, developing and executing new strategies that increase market adoption of low carbon retrofits.Work with market stakeholders to find the most cost-effective strategies to enable decarbonization, reduce energy usage and demand.Support the development of program resources for outreach and educational purposes:Mine the Program for insights and lessons learned, and translate those insights into market facing resources for awareness raising and capacity building in the decarbonization space.Promote program participant successes through a variety of market engagement mechanisms.Internal

Contribute to a team culture of openness and collaboration.Identify and pursue opportunities for program(s) improvement.Work with other NYSERDA teams to promote effective cross-collaboration on overlapping program efforts.Pursue program process improvements, working with the team to ensure tasks are done efficiently.Support the Advanced Efficiency Solutions team as needed on special assignments or special projects.Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including supporting timely responsiveness to executive-level requests.Minimum Qualifications

At least three years of experience working in the building decarbonization space, with a strong understanding of portfolio planning, building energy systems and technologies, energy efficiency and decarbonization approaches (e.g., electrification, low-carbon fuels, thermal energy networks, storage, etc.).Excellent track record of strategic partnership development, particularly the ability to develop and cultivate effective working relationships with a diverse set of organizations.Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills, including in meetings, in presentations (e.g., PowerPoint), and for emails and other written products. Proven ability to translate technical discussions to a more general audience.Strong familiarity with Excel and/or Tableau and basic data analysis skills.Proven experience or ability to work collaboratively with other teams to deliver key work products that incorporate multiple perspectives.Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, develop and execute on a workplan, and balance research and analysis with ongoing internal team and external stakeholder engagement.Interest in and strong ability to stay very organized with time management and planning skills to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with other teams.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability and willingness to travel across New York State.Required: An Associate degree, and at least 3 years of experience in building energy efficiency, clean energy solution deployment, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree, particularly in policy, public or business administration, architecture, real estate, urban planning, or related field, and 4 years of experience in building decarbonization, energy efficiency or a related field, and strong data analysis skills.Please submit two files, one for your cover letter and another for a resume.[IND123]
