Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Software Engineer to join our agile development team in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will participate in a team that leverages mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure. This role involves executing the full lifecycle agile workflow, including daily SCRUMs, story grooming and bidding, and sprint execution. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software, extending the software baseline, and maintaining the deployed system. Additionally, the role includes diagnosing and resolving issues, providing end-user support, and offering technical guidance to the team to ensure effective project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute full lifecycle agile workflows, including daily SCRUMs, story grooming and bidding, and sprint execution.Develop and extend software capabilities using key enabling technologies and frameworks.Maintain and support deployed systems, diagnose and resolve issues, and assist end-users as needed.Provide technical and methodological guidance to the team, promoting self-reliance and effectiveness.Continuously learn and apply new skills and technologies to address challenging problems and develop successful solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly preferred; Top Secret eligible to obtain CI Poly.Experience: Minimum of 4 years in Java development.Education: B.S. in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.Experience with Angular 4+ front-end web application platform and PrimeNG UI components or similar web frameworks.Proficiency in PostgreSQL or similar Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GovCloud.Experience with continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks.Experience in integrating, testing, and deploying software applications to operations.Strong oral and written communication skills, including direct customer interaction.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge or familiarity with space systems is highly desirable.Experience with Docker containers.Experience with the Spring Boot framework.Proficiency in developing software using Agile/Scrum methodologies.Ability to collaborate with other software developers and present technical information effectively.Knowledge of software architectures, object-oriented programming, and computer architectures.Ability to engage with customers to gather requirements and feedback.Strong team player with a willingness to learn and grow.Experience in leading trade studies and root cause analysis.Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
