Premier Medical Associates, a part of NeueHealth, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our team in the greater Orlando area. The Gastroenterologist specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the stomach, intestines, esophagus, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. This role involves performing endoscopic procedures, providing medical treatment for GI conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. The Gastroenterologist is dedicated to improving patient health through expert clinical care and continuous professional development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Gastroenterologist job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.



Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, such as acid reflux, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and Crohn’s disease.•

Perform endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and sigmoidoscopies, to examine the digestive tract.•

Interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, imaging studies, and biopsy results, to determine the appropriate treatment plan.•

Provide medical management for chronic GI conditions, including prescribing medications and recommending lifestyle changes.•

Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.•

Educate patients on maintaining GI health, disease prevention, and post-procedure care.•

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE(Licensures AND Certifications)



Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.•

Completion of a 3-year residency in Internal Medicine.•

Completion of a 2–3-year fellowship in Gastroenterology.•

Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.•

State medical licensure for Florida.•

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a gastroenterology practice or hospital setting preferred.•

Experience in performing and interpreting a wide range of endoscopic procedures.•

Proven experience in managing complex GI conditions and providing long-term patient care.•

Ongoing commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
