1 Position Summary: Incumbent performs all tasks necessary to register patients, obtain necessary authorizations, verify the patient has a source of funding to cover services, and schedule patients for surgery. Responds to patient inquiries and resolves any identified issues. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum

$29.76 Required Qualifications: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Demonstrated experience using MS Office Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings Previous experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system Ability to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverage General knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes Must be able to travel to off site physician practices Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with authorization process and surgical scheduling Bilingual in English and Spanish Familiarity of Joint Commission standards Experience with Epic Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Conditions of Employment: The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
