We are searching for a Data Engineer with a passion for data, technology, and finance to improve our data product. This role will join our team in our Data Development team in our Chicago office. The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing various ETL pipelines, data warehouse architecture, streamlining data processing, report generation, and data quality automation. A great plus if you have an interest in the financial markets. This is a full-time exempt role that reports directly to the Head of Data Engineering.

WHAT YOU WILL DOContribute to the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and support.Build critical data pipelines for our trading platform with an emphasis on automation.Research, understand various financial data sets and/or historical trading.Assist trading desk and clients, including interfacing with various data vendors.Automate data collection, data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.Identify and develop new processes within the data request process to enrich data.Ownership of technical projects, the design, and development.Participate in daily stand-up meetings and communicate status updates.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR4-year college degree or advanced degree in a quantitative and/or science field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Physics, Statistics, or Engineering.At least 2 years in a data engineering role.Proficiency in the following tech stack: Python, C#, WPF, SQL, AWS, Hadoop/HDFS, PySpark, Hive, Airflow.Experience with AWS and cloud computing.Experience in data management and ETL pipelines is a plus.Understanding of large-scale applications in a distributed environment.Financial datasets experience and financial reporting like FINA CAT is a huge plus.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work with all levels of staff.Detailed oriented with a strong work ethic.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.Work in a high-energy environment and ownership of tasks.Professional, motivated attitude.Available to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 3+ days in the office per week) at our downtown Chicago state-of-the-art office.Local to Chicagoland area only or willing to relocate to Chicago.
