DescriptionBETA is seeking for an experienced

Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

to support our Water and Wastewater Team. The position will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the New England area and will provide leadership and client development specifically in water wastewater engineering, construction management, civil infrastructure design, and permitting. This team of professionals comes together to create innovated planning and design solutions for our public-sector clients’ water treatment, distribution, and storage infrastructure while also providing the same service for their wastewater treatment and collection infrastructure to improve the overall condition and increase reliability of these systems. Projects may include: Long-term planning programs, condition surveys, asset management programs, design of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems and the associated treatment facilities and pump stations for each, and construction management and oversight.

Responsibilities:Manage projects and mentor staff engineers in projects for community clients as well as planning efforts and design projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure.Assist with the technical execution of projects amongst a team of dedicated project managers.Identify engineering issues and develop solutionsConduct and oversee hydraulic modeling and analyses.Assist in the preparation of engineering design and construction plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and bid documents.Assist in wetlands permitting, when required.Assist in business development and proposal efforts.Conduct field and office QA/QC responsibilities.Provide responsive client service through strong and prompt communicationAttend and present at client and public meetingsCollaborate across internal disciplines and office locationsRequirementsSkills Required:Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineeringProfessional Engineer certification required8 to 12 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater projectsBackground and professional experience in water and wastewater design, hydraulics, construction management, and wetlands permitting.Highly motivated self-starter with a professional attitude.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise letters, memoranda, technical reports, proposals, and figures.Strong computer skills including a solid foundation in MS Office applications.Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and ArcGIS/Pro experienceMust be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspectionsMust be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 poundsMust be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeMust have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportationAbout BETA:BETA Group, Inc. is a New England based consultant engineering firm and leader in the fields of transportation, traffic, structural, civil/site, and water/wastewater engineering; landscape architecture; urban design and planning; GIS/asset management; environmental sciences and permitting; and construction services.
