(Clinician Educator Line)The Stanford Department of Pathology seeks three outstanding Surgical Pathologists and/or Cytopathologists for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor in the Clinician Educator Line to practice at the Stanford Health Care – Valley Care (SHC-VC) medical center in Pleasanton, CA (~55 miles from Stanford campus). Fellowship training in a subspecialty of surgical pathology and/or cytopathology is strongly preferred.SHC-VC provides community-based care, including expanding oncology services, to the surrounding Tri- Valley region (Amador, San Ramon and Livermore valleys). Faculty practicing at SHC-VC would be connected digitally to the Palo Alto campus with the ability to share cases and interact directly with other faculty and trainees.Stanford Medicine is committed to lead the biomedical revolution in precision health, and recognizes that success in achieving this vision will require world-class innovation and method development for patient care across all aspects of pathology. Clinician Educators are encouraged to participate in research programs, as their clinical and educational responsibilities permit. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.Successful candidates will join the faculty in the Department of Pathology, which currently includes a Nobel laureate, multiple members of the National Academies, and many other investigators with national and international distinctions. In conjunction with its outstanding research program, the Department of Pathology is responsible annually for over 16 million laboratory tests and 80,000 anatomic pathology specimens, and educates outstanding graduate students, residents and fellows.Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (or equivalent qualification) and must hold an MD or MD/PHD and hold or acquire a license to practice medicine in the State of California. Preference will be given to applicants with fellowship training in surgical pathology (e.g. gastroenterology, genitourinary, head & neck, thoracic, breast, gynecologic, general, etc.) and/or cytopathology.The Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, and Stanford University value faculty who are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
