Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services

oversees, administers and leads

Behavioral Health Services within Aviva Health. The Vice President of Behavioral Health Services’ responsibilities include: behavioral health services delivery; quality management and improvement; policy development and implementation; oversight of fiscal viability of pertinent behavioral health programs; budget development and monitoring; and personnel services administration.

Essential Functions:

Supervises and mentors Behavioral Health leads and/or managers as applicable and is responsible for the administrative and clinical oversight of all Behavioral Health staff and providers.

Collaborates with the CMO, CEO, and other members of the Senior Executive team, compliance, legal, and the Behavioral Health Services team to guide clinical directional goals of Behavioral Health at Aviva Health clinic sites and the RFMR.

Responsible for the review of Behavioral Health Services, assessing needs and developing all appropriate forms, guidelines, policies, and procedures for the service that follow all federal, state, and local agencies and regulations.

Works with CMO in guiding strategic planning for Behavioral Health future directions to improve care and access for community members.

Assesses staffing and resource needs and works with the CMO and HR to recruit additional staff and providers in the functioning and development of the service.

Interviews, selects, hires, and evaluates professional and support staff and oversees training, development, and supervision of all assigned service line staff.

Provides staff performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and works with CMO and HR in necessary terminations.

Identifies the need for and develops proposed changes in current program practices, policies, and procedures.

Evaluates current workflows for referrals, scheduling, billing/ coding, operations, and others relating to patient care to identify gaps and work with appropriate teams to create or improve them.

Evaluates and works to improve provider documentation, developing templates for Behavioral Health for the EMR.

Performs biopsychosocial evaluations and assessments of Behavioral Health patients.

Provides differential diagnosis(es) and develops and monitors treatment plans.

Collaborates with other Behavioral Health team members and primary care providers to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Provides exceptional evidence-based Behavioral Health treatments based on scope of practice to a panel of Aviva Health clinic patients.

Accurately and efficiently documents all clinical interventions, diagnosis, symptoms, and presenting problems in the Electronic Medical Record.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Vice President of Behavioral Health Services must:

Be licensed to and have practiced in the State of Oregon, without restrictions, for at least five (5) years prior to applying for the position.

Have the unrestricted ability to fully participate in any private insurance panel or state or federally funded health care program, including the Oregon Health Plan, Medicare and Medicaid.
