Houston Cardiovascular Associates is adding to the team and in search of PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologists in Houston, TX.Duties and ResponsibilitiesExplains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test resultsPrepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administers doses, under direction of PhysicianPerforms diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies on patients as prescribed by physician, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectorsFollows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materialsMaintains quality control of all equipmentSafeguard the privacy of patient health informationAttends required meetingsPerforms related work as requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skillsMust be experienced and work independently in a very busy private cardiology practice settingRequirementsMust be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
