US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist to join our team in Tucson, AZ.Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

Duties and ResponsibilitiesExplains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under the direction of a Physician.Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.Follows radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.Maintains quality control of all equipment.Safeguards the privacy of patient health information.Attends required meetings.Performs related work as required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.Must be experienced and work independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.RequirementsMust be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
