NVIDIA is looking for a senior software engineer with expertise in Python to add support for the Python programming language to our existing suite of developer tools. The position will be part of a dynamic, worldwide team that develops and maintains a portfolio of debug tools and libraries that are hosted and targeting OSes including Windows, Linux, and other embedded system real time OSes (RTOS).

What You’ll Be DoingYou will apply your knowledge of debuggers and the Python language and architecture to enhance existing compute debugger tools and libraries, and extend them to new use cases. You should be comfortable working in C, C++, Python and assembly on a wide range of supported platforms: Windows, Linux, and embedded real time OSes. You should also be comfortable interacting with different development teams, and have an eagerness to learn about new compute and graphics drivers, GPU architectures and operating systems.

Develop the compute debugger tools for GPUs running on Windows, Linux, and embedded operating systems.Extend the existing capabilities of the compute debug tools to support debugging of Python code, both for interpreted and transpiled use cases.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across NVIDIA in the creation of use cases, requirements and designs for Python support.Effectively estimate and prioritize tasks in order to create realistic delivery schedules.Write fast, effective, maintainable, reliable and well-documented code.Provide peer reviews to other engineers, including feedback on performance, scalability and correctness.Mentor junior engineers.

What We Need To SeeBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience5+ years of experienceStrong programming ability in C, C++, Python, Assembly Language and scripting languagesExcellent knowledge of computer architectureStrong problem solving and debugging skillsStrong skills with low-level programming using assembly languagesSource control understanding (git, Perforce, etc.)Ability to self-manage, communicate, and adapt in a fast paced, high demand environment with changing priorities and directionExcellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Ways To Stand Out From The CrowdExperience with Python, both as an end user and with its underlying interpreter implementation.Experience developing extensions to both Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft Visual Studio Code.Experience with compiler workflows, and the application of DWARF to facilitate Python debugging.Knowledge of CUDA programming as well as demonstrated experience with build systems (CMake, Ninja, etc.)Ability to interpret ELF/DWARF compiler output.

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 276,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
