JOB DESCRIPTION

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:Represent Ampersand affiliates in the sale of cable, satellite, and streaming advertising time to clients and their agencies that are seeking advertising opportunities in political geographies.Achieve or exceed assigned quarterly and annual budget objectives for assigned agency and account list.

HOW YOU’LL BE CONTRIBUTING:Develop customized media strategies utilizing Ampersand tools to best target constituents and stakeholders in our agency portfolio.Know the product - maintain thorough knowledge of local market cable assets and Ampersand digital opportunities.Work closely with other Ampersand departments (i.e., Business Development, Promotions, Research, eBusiness Operations) to build and facilitate new and ongoing advertising strategies.Maintain working knowledge of media math, internal applications and targeting tools, and essential Microsoft Office functions to utilize in avail creation and pitches.Build and maintain positive relationships with agencies and affiliates by practicing effective communication skills and establishing a reputation of value, integrity, and credibility.Utilize effective sales techniques (i.e., meetings, questioning, handling objections, presenting features and benefits, negotiating, and gathering competitive analysis) during all phases of the sales process.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:College degree preferredMedia sales (ad agency/rep firm/broadcast station/cable affiliate/network) experience preferredComprehension of spot cable and ability to clearly present its attributes to advertisersClear understanding of media mathProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent written/oral communication skills
