This is a pivotal role as you will be the first DevOps hire at Pearl, responsible for maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure. This position will help lay the groundwork for our future team growth. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and efficient.Maintain and manage our AWS EKS cluster to ensure high availability and performanceSet up and manage a new Citus Sharding Cluster, optimizing it for our specific needsImplement and maintain dashboards and reports for the executive team to monitor infrastructure healthDevelop and enforce internal policies and best practices for infrastructure management and securityCollaborate with the engineering team to support our microservice architectureProvide hands-on technical expertise and leadership, guiding the team through complex technical challengesCommunicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to convey ideas and solutions clearlyWhat You'll Need to Succeed8+ years of experience in a DevOps or related roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldExperience in a startup and/or high-growth business preferredAdditional certifications in AWS or DevOps Methodologies a plusProven track record of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure at scaleExtensive experience with AWS infrastructure, including EKS, Lambda, SQS, MSK, RDS, EC2, and S3Strong experience in setting up and managing Citus Sharding ClustersProficiency in maintaining PostgreSQL databases and ensuring their performance and reliabilityDeep understanding of microservice architecture and its implementation in a cloud environmentHands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationFamiliarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical systemsStrong communication skills, capable of articulating ideas and solutions to diverse audiencesAbility to hit the ground running, demonstrating proactivity and independence in managing tasksLeadership qualities with a vision for building and scaling a DevOps teamCollaborative mindset with a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teamsWhat We OfferCompetitive Benefit and Compensation OfferingsOngoing Training and Development OpportunitiesUnaccrued, Flexible PTORemote Work
