The hiring range for this opportunity is $150,000 to $185,000 annually along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for maximizing the profitability of Public Sector and complex client relationships through effective analysis of deposit opportunities, obtaining and expanding new Public Sector Banking relationships, servicing of deposit, core fee income, loan requests and treasury management products, for all clients. Provide oversight to ensure deposits are managed within CA Code, and ensure consistency in pricing & product development, messaging and providing recommendations to the expansion, development & profitability recommendations within the vertical. Effectively manage a large commercial portfolio of funds. Responsible for reviewing, pricing, structuring and obtaining Public Sector loan opportunities which are specialty lending requests. Executes management & operational overview of the verticals banking relationships.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide general oversight, industry knowledge assistance for the vertical; Oversee budget, sales goals and P&L of the Public Sector Banking vertical; Develop, monitor and analyze performance metrices to evaluate effectiveness; Develop bank strategies to drive growth.
• Collaborate with other Bank partners as necessary. Communicate within the Bank new sales and cross selling opportunities; Define responsibilities and coordinate objectives for all product areas in a relationship or transaction. Resolve all client needs and any internal issues.
• Recruit, train, lead, coach and motivate Public Sector Banking team members and build out the vertical.
• Engage with marketing department to create effective marketing strategies and proper messaging for the Public Sector vertical; Facilitate marketing/newsletter activities.
• Partner with Treasury Management to ensure successful implementation of TM solutions; Understand and be proficient on Products and Services to make recommendations to clients based on the needs of its business.
• Protect the bank by applying sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for offering a full range of bank product and services, based on clients' needs; Analyze tactical business challenges related to full-service banking for the vertical.
• Provide pricing and RFP completion oversight for vertical business opportunities.
• Perform Annual Client reviews; in partnership with any relationship stakeholders, to ensure clients' needs are being fully met.
• Coordinate with Credit Manager/Credit Team to ensure all necessary documentation is received from the client to facilitate expeditious underwriting; Present credit recommendations for client full banking relationship needs.
• Ensure Public Sector deposits are monitored and meet the state insurance & reporting requirements for managing public deposits; and that 'Contract for Monies' are in file for all Public Sector Clients.
• Ensure Business Escrow deposits are properly documented, and operational compliance is maintained.
• Monitor the Business Escrow Portfolio.
• Develop Annual Business Plan, including an events and business development schedule including executive prospecting events and team activities.
• Negotiate with the client on pricing and contract terms.
• Communicate and educate current and potential clients on products and services to resolve any business or technical need.
• Responsible for participating in, and presenting at, internal and external meetings to build credibility, win new business, enhance relationships and create a perception of bank's products, services and competencies.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participates in pertinent industry trade groups, events and conferences.
• Participates in civic and community affairs as appropriate.
• Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
• High school diploma or GED required. Undergraduate degree, preferred.
• 5 years of experience in public sector finance.
• 3 years of credit experience including advanced credit analysis, ability to properly structure and price existing and new loans. Exceptional knowledge of commercial credit guidelines and procedures.
• Proven track record of success in driving growth in a commercial banking environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical ability.
