The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description
  • Design, prototype and author code for software components and applications based on functional specification and optimize them for system performance
  • Document the analysis and solution design in partnership with Product owner and solution engineer
  • Develop system/application and integration architecture, support implementation & delivery
  • Responsible for overall success of the program, leading iterative development that delivers a high-quality product
  • Serve as a champion for excellent engineering practices, including methodologies like TDD, pair programming, frequent deployments, and code coverage
  • Collaborate closely with a team of Architects, Technologists, Product Owners, and Engineers in an Agile environment to deliver complex CCM software solutions
  • Drive a culture of innovation and learning while modeling the company's core behaviors and values
  • Facilitate sprint demos, cross team learnings, communication, and alignment
  • Mentor and coach team members to grow their skillset and career
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
Qualifications
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field plus Five (5) years of software engineering experience in the job offered or a Principal Software Engineer-related occupation.

Position also requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:

  • Designing and developing Customer Communication Management and Publishing solutions for global customers
  • Hands on experience with layered systems architectures, designs, and shared software concepts
  • Quadient Inspire applications including Designer/Scaler V12+, Interactive V12+, and Dynamic Communications V12+
  • Microservice architecture for loose coupling and design patterns
  • Building new services and integrating with Quadient/Inspire APIs for automating document production workflows
  • Agile/Scrum methodology, sprint planning, release planning, work prioritization, retrospectives, Kanban boards, and SAFe methodology
  • Backlog refinement and helping with decomposing and sizing of epics and stories
  • Experience working with teams and business partners dispersed globally
  • Participating in on-call rotation to resolve production incidents that affect business operations
  • Proficiency in multiple object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience with Java, spring boot, Python, database technologies, and source control repository systems such as GIT
  • Creating DevOps pipeline and CI/CD software deployments techniques using Bamboo or Jenkins tools
  • Knowledge and awareness of security and privacy policies
  • Experience with TDD (Test driven development) and pair programming
  • Business operations and strategies, including knowledge of global business, technology trends and the financial services industry
