Sampled enables clients to advance human health by leveraging active biological samples through preservation, immortalization and utilization in comprehensive multiomics research within the only leading-edge Global Integrated Analytical Biorepository.A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities and EH&S Manager to join our team at Sampled’s Headquarters in Piscataway, New Jersey.POSITION SUMMARY:Directs and oversees all aspects of the company’s facility including strategic planning and capital project implementation, space assessment and assignment, renovation and maintenance project execution, and oversees management of all maintenance, grounds, transportation, and custodial / housekeeping operations. Champions the advancement and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in areas of energy conservation and sustainability.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop, implement, and supervise preventative maintenance and renovation programs for buildings, mechanical and electrical, utility, and safety and security systems• Develop and monitor department budget; order equipment and supplies and monitor inventory; make requests for capital outlay expenditures as needed• Prepare specifications for physical plant projects; estimate costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies; prepare bid specifications for projects, equipment, and contracted services; oversee site and building projects performed by outside contractors.• Oversee renovations, refurbishment, office relocations and building projects. Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget, providing regular status reports to key stakeholders.• Advise the business on measures to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the facility, with a focus on energy efficiency and optimizing transportation and logistics.• Schedule and supervise maintenance team engaged in building upkeep and repair.• Be an effective leader onboarding new staff, providing support, training, guidance and mentorship to team members. Ensure the team remains up to date on training, including but not limited to training in SOPs, skills competency, regulatory and safety requirements.• Hire and oversee the right contractors to carry out hard and soft facilities management services.• Oversee fleet vehicles acquisition, assignment, and maintenance• Contribute to strategic planning by evaluating and projecting future facility needs and proposing options to achieve them• Ensure facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EH&S programs and policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.• Conduct regular EH&S audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.• Develop and deliver EH&S training programs to employees, promoting a culture of safety, health and environmental responsibility.• Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.• Promote and monitor safe working practices across the business, analyzing incidents and near miss data to provide regular reporting and recommendations to the business and senior team.• Maintain and update all necessary documentation, permits, and records related to EH&S.• Serve as the primary point of contact for all EH&S matters, including emergency response and crisis management.• Be an active champion and role model of the Sampled Core Values: Strive to delight our clients, move invocation forward, accelerate the business, rise together as a team, and transcend what is possible.• Perform related responsibilities as needed.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management and EH&S roles, with 3+ years in a leadership position. Experienced in hiring and developing staff.• In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EH&S regulations and standards.• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
