What the day will look like
Reporting directly to the National Practice Leader, we will help you grow professionally as a subject matter expert.
You will collaborate with regional leaders while being supported by associates and analysts in the team. We expect you to provide guidance and leadership to junior colleagues as well.
We also consider you an Aon Ambassador to our clients and hope you can build, nurture, and develop client relationships through effective value proposition and service delivery.

- Responsible for all aspects of projects in the Investment Consulting practice on a range of advisory and OCIO Investment clients and accounts; including pension and benefit plans (DB and DC), insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other special purpose funds. Designs, coordinates, prepares, and delivers analytical evaluations of advisory services.
- Identifies and develops client account opportunities, expanding the scope of existing projects and relationships.
- Responsible for relationships with increasingly demanding clients, providing proactive and innovative support. Demonstrates sound judgment and ensures appropriate follow-up with company employees, investment managers, directors, and clients. Demonstrates initiative and responsibility in client and research work.
- Uses internal resources effectively to handle multiple client-related projects.
- Mentors team on specific client types (foundations and endowments) or unique investment issues [e.g. ESG, transition management, customized target-date funds, endowment spending model].
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of, and ability to articulate, the value proposition of all Canadian investment consulting services.
- Leads ad hoc projects for the Canadian Investment Consulting senior management team and local executives.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 12 + years of direct experience in a financial / investment consulting environment,
- Experience working with institutional clients, especially handling a block of clients and client teams;
- Proven problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and skills in developing solutions for complex clients/business issues;
- Able to understand the short-term/long-term needs of clients; capable of identifying business development opportunities to effectively close consulting assignments;
- Embraces creative spirit in work by recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to help with the growth and expansion of the organization;
- Ability to establish self as a trusted leader/advisor. Demonstrates strong client-facing skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas, and information and to respond promptly and effectively to all inquiries;
- Detail and results-orientated; able to work independently on diverse projects, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced; high-pressure environment and meet project timelines;
- A teammate who can work with various types of individuals;
- Technical expertise and proven track record to remain current concerning investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
- Planning and organizational skills through experiences; ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;
- French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.
- Must be persuasive, forward-thinking, progressive, energetic, and focused;
- Analytical skills; accuracy and attention to detail;
- Requires substantial travel to service clients
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science or Commerce or a related field, or equivalent years of experience; and
- Dedication to professional development. Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
