Direct the social services staff to provide counseling, entitlement, health and educational programs and social services. Coordinate clinical services on site.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  1. Ensure adequate mental health, medical, social services, housing placement and substance abuse services for all clients
  2. Control the quality of services through formal supervision, case conferences and consultation to ensure a high standard of services
  3. Evaluate assessment documentation and establish criteria for program admission
  4. Communicate with referral agencies on admission criteria and bed vacancies
  5. Review charts and database entries
  6. Work with program director and staff to support clinical work
  7. Establish an ongoing training program and staff development to ensure professional and informed service
  8. Implement casework policies and procedures to ensure continuity of services
  9. Manage collection and analysis of client and program data to generate reports and evaluate programs
  10. Intervene in major crises to ensure the well-being of staff and clients
  11. Provide technical assistance to case management team as needed
  12. Work jointly with contract medical / mental health providers to ensure timely delivery of services
  13. Provides supervision and oversight to supervisory clinical staff (see positions supervised above)

  • Manages the completion of time clock edits of staff who report to this position.
  • Monitors subordinates' compliance with the agency's time and attendance policy; recommends disciplinary action for those out of compliance.
  • Completion of performance evaluations.
  • Conducts staff supervision in the absence of the Program Manager.
  • Assists with disciplinary actions by participating in disciplinary counseling, completing disciplinary action reports, and recommending employee terminations as needed.
  • Monitors whether staff have attended required in-service training and schedules employees to attend both in-service training and training provided by vendors; conducts training on clinical subjects, charting, fire safety plan, fire drills, emergency plans and procedures, building security, volunteers and interns, and site specific exposure control plan.
  • Promotes positive employee morale and a culture of compliance in the work environment to stop or eliminate sexual harassment or any form of employee harassment or employee discrimination; responsible for taking complaints of sexual harassment, informing the Human Resources Department of the complaint, and investigating the complaint (as directed).
  • Monitors employee accrual totals, approves or recommends approval of employee requests for time off, and notifies the Department of Human Resources when an employee should be placed on or taken off Family and Medical Leave (FMLA). Maintains contact with staff while out on FMLA.
  • Participates in employment interviews that meet federal, state, and agency regulatory guidelines.
  • Has on-call responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master's or Doctoral degree in Human Services field (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Rehab Counseling, Counseling, etc.) plus a minimum of 3 years progressive supervisory experience in a human services setting.
