Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU), Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States, 80509

Position Overview:The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. This is a Capability Engineer position for which the selected applicant will perform the following Use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Epics and Features to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities. Supports the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and performed formal and informal engineering reviews. Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department. Reviewing the content and details of technical products and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis. Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.Essential Functions:Skills-generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities.Additional skills required include Requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system.Defining the relationships between internal and external components.Communicating system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective.May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts.Basic Qualifications:An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.9 years with a Bachelor’s degree with a STEM concentration or in a related field; 7 years experience with a master's degree in STEM concentration or related fieldMust also be flexible and can support various tasks on short notice.Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system.Must have demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.Preferred Qualifications:Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.Possessing a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desired.Experience with other Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly desired.Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition is a significant plus.Skills in logical architecture modeling, interface definition, and knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable.
