CNC Programmer

Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience. Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility. Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work. Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment. Works under general direction.The CNC Machining and Programming Specialist plays a crucial role in our cutting-edge technologies. This position involves providing numerical control, machining, and programming expertise to support the design and manufacture of parts and assemblies. As a vital member of the FSL team, you will establish technical requirements for manufacturing, create and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), and guide the development of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods.Day to Day:
Execute general fabrication and assembly tasks for flight simulation equipment.Apply precision machining techniques for flight simulation equipment, including layout, drill press, manual lathe, and manual mill.Program parts to be machined on a CNC Mill.Maintain, set up, and run CNC mill to machine parts for lab equipment.Collaborate closely with the engineering team to assess the machinability of prototypes, assemblies, and other components.Required Experience:
Certification and/or relevant work experience in machining technology.Proficiency in manual machining, metrology, and rapid prototyping.3+ years of experience operating a CNC Mill.3+ years of experience programming CNC.Preferred Skills:
5+ years of experience operating a CNC Mill.5+ years of experience programming CNC.Experience with 3D CAD programs (NX preferred).Experience with NC programming (Mastercam preferred).Experience with Tormach Path Pilot.Ability to lead and establish best practices/procedures for a CNC Mill in a rapid prototyping environment.Active Secret Clearance preferred but not required.
